Gators in action, I watched live!!

Lots of intersting things happened in the recent days and I can pick the best one among those. We made a trip to Orlando for the thanksgiving holidays. We had planned to stay there for five days including a trip to Gainsville on one day. Palani graduated from University of Florida and he watches his school football. He really loves it and makes his schedule arranged in such a way that he watches it on saturdays whenever there is a match. Anyway, we had'nt planned properly and so we did not purchase any tickets for the match, in prior. So, we were sure watching the match that saturday in live would only be a dream.

That saturday morning, we drove to Gainsville having no clue of how we would get tickets. Perhaps, we drove only to see the school and his professors. I was really amazed to see the crowd. To be frank, I have never seen such a crowd for anything else. I saw each and every person dressed in orange and blue . I have no idea of school football except for I know the little basics I got to learn from Palani. I was interested to watch a match in live as it was my first time.

Ah, I feel really excited going back in my thoughts to the match and the stadium. I was inspired to support the gators. Though I am not a gator, I should say I was truly for it. I was equally enthusiastic as Palani for watching the game. The chillness, breeze all did not seem to bother me at all. I am not familiar with many of the technical terms. I knew very few terms as I get to hear often. I was surprised to see three jets going across the stadium at a great speed when the match began. I was greatly astonished and it was for Gators. I was excited to see the interests of so many people. I could understand the crowd applauding Tebow , the Quarterback often. I was curious to hear about the Quarterback from Palani after all this. Anyway, he keeps telling me a lot of information that I can relate. Recently , I even heard some childhood story of Tebow from Palani. I showed a great interest ,which I myself couldn't believe.May be I will start following the game and become a great fan of gators.

My Camping Experience !! Part 1

This weekend was very enjoyable and will be a memorable one indeed! We went for a camping to KOA Shenandoa Park, Virginea. To start with , I should say we were thinking that camping would be nice when we go with a group ( atleast another couple). My husband always had a like for camping and I had no clue of how it would be. We used to have regular chats when planning weekends for summer about this topic also. But this topic always ends with a point that we need another couple to put up the tent and so on. Then , finally we decided that we are going to proceed with camping that weekend no matter who joined.
We booked a primitive site(no current and water) in the park . We started planning about the stuffs we should take and bought one by one. The day arrived and we started with all the stuffs packed and some food too. Our journey was cool with regular chit chatting . It was drizzling slightly and it began to rain very heavily that we could'nt even drive. We had checked the weather in the morning and found everything was okay. We were slightly into thought about how we were going to put up the tent and so on if it was raining. Even then, we drove with good fun. We reached the spot and the weather was awesome to our suprise.
We opened our tent bag and started putting it up. We tried for about half an hour when an old man from the next tent came and offered help. Our tent construction was completed in five minutes then :) We unpacked some stuff and ate something what we had brought. The place was awesome with a waterfalls close by. We could hear the sound of the falls all the time. There were lot of tents nearby and the place looked good.People were engaged in activities like swimming, fishing , playing golf etc. Kids were having a great time playing and tubing.I was excited about the camp fire. My husband had bought some stuffs like starters, logs of wood etc. I was waiting for the darkness. We had brought some marinated chicken to roast in the camp fire. It was about 9.30 when we started making the fire. It was total darkness and could not see anybody . Chicken roasting in the camp fire made it more interesting. We sat relaxed for sometime when it started to drizzle slightly. We went into the tent. I had always dreamt of sleeping inside a tent when it is raining. I was overjoyed when it started to rain. We had small battery lights with us. It was so exciting .
The next day, we got up late at about 10.00 AM. I should say we started feeling hot slightly inside the tent so we got up. We slept so well in the tent with no discomfort. We decided to go out to some place that day. We looked into the brouchers we had . We came to know about a natural bridge zoo , which was 1 hour drive from our place. A seperate post will come up about the zoo.

My visit to the Glass musuem

I had a great weekend in Niagara and was on the way back home. My husband happened to grab a broucher from the hotel we stayed which said about the corning glass musuem. We knew it was on our way back. I did not have any clue of how glass articles were made. Both of us were interested and we planned to drop by there, if time permitted. Everything went as per plan and we finally reached the musuem . That broucher said that we can make our own glass article and carry it home. All these made it more interesting.
We entered and the person in the counter asked us whether we needed tickets both for the musuem and the glass making. We got the tickets for both and stepped in with the directions . To our suprise, the exhibits were awesome. I am generally not a big fan of musuems and I really feel bored spending time in musuems. But this one was amazing. We spent quite a lot of time seeing the exhibits and taking pictures. We were informed by the receptionist that there was going to be a glass making show. So, we made up for that as per schedule. There were two guys on the dias , who were going to make the glass.
We took our seats in one of the front rows. The show started and the crowd were all guessing what object was being done. We also went on guessing some wrong things. Finally , the object turned out to be a beautiful vase. It was the first time I saw the blowing of glass , shaping etc and I was really thrilled. The show ended and the crowd dispersed. We went staight to the place where we could make our own glass. The broucher said we can take home the glasses made and that made it all the more interesting. We were asked on what we liked to do. We selected the basic one because the other advanced ones required drying for 2 days . The one we selected was sand blasting. We stepped in and we were given safety glasses. Perhaps, I still dont understand why we wore that for sand blasting :) We were asked to select the type of glasses we would like to do sand blasting on. I was confused as I had thought I would be making the glass itself. But , that was not the case. We selected a type of glass we liked. There were lots of stickers in varios shapes. Then it was our job. We went sticking the shapes, writing letters and sticking them and so on. That was really fun. Then , the guy there helped us doing the blasting . We made glasses for each other :)

Court Case hearing - To my suprise !!

I had always liked to be present for a court case hearing since childhood. But, I had never had a chance to see the scene other than in the television. Mostly almost all cinemas especially tamil ones bring atleast one court scene in the picture.
Last weekend, my brother-in-law had come over here for the memorial day weekend. They wanted to get their marriage certificate here. So, my hubby browsed for all the necessary documents to be taken and the location of the office that was close by. We drove there in the morning by 11 am. All four of us got inside the building after all the checking. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were asked to fill up a form for the marriage license. I was keen in seeing the whole office so me and my husband started walking around the office. As I was walking around, I saw plenty of rooms numbered as court room 101 ans so on. I was wondering whether we could step inside. When I was telling my husband about this, he immediately asked a cop there whether we could enter one of the rooms. The cop, without any hesitation said yes. We went inside and I was astonished to see the same setting as I had seen in the movies. So, we just stepped in and sat on one of the last rows there. There were two cops standing inside and talking with them.My husband went on explaining me with the seating arrangements like where the juries sit, the judge and so on. Few minutes later, a judge, two lawyers and about eight juries came and took their seat. Everyone there got up as a sign of respect and we followed as it went on. It was total silence when en elderly man came over there. He took his seat in the front and he was questioned. It looked like he was a chemistry professor and was brought there to get some minute details regarding the drugs. There were two lawyers present , one for the plaintiff and the other for the defendant. One lawyer, who was supporting the plaintiff asked some questions to the elderly professor after which he left the place. We also saw a young guy sitting near the defendant lawyer. I had always thought that the defendant would be questioned directly. But then, I found the lawyers speaking one after the other both sides. The case was simple for us to understand .It was something related to drugs found in a car. Some sheets of paper were passed over to the juries and some time was given for them to read those .The case was then put up for after lunch and the team dispersed. we moved out discussing the casse and I was really happy for I had always wanted to see a case in reality.

Free from hectic schedules !!!!!!!

I have started to scribble because I am having a plenty of time and I thought I can do something useful . But then I have started to like blogging as I am getting a feel that I can improve a lot through this. So, I am sure I ll continue blogging . I must thank my hubby for getting me involved in this .
As my title says, I am away from routines now. I had always dreamt for a life free of routines and schedules. I had been working for a software concern in Chennai for about two years and life had been really busy . Twelve hour job per day is very normal in many companies in Chennai. There is noone to award smart work done for 8 hours. Slogging for 12 hours or more is the regular pattern liked and encouraged by most of the project managers. When a person does'nt slog for more than 8 hours, its like he or she is not following the company rules and it makes one feel guilty to start early in the evenings. There is also a concept of appraisals and ratings based on the individuals work for every 6 month period. As per the regular pattern, the person slogging late nights gets the best of all. Also, they have a minimum rating to be given to atleast 5 percent of the members in a project. The victims for the minimum will be those who are going to take a long leave due to personal reasons or women going to take a maternity leave or guys posted onsite and going to come under onsite pay rolls. Oh my God! Whats the logic behind ..... I have seen so many pregnant ladies slogging long to meet deadlines. But then their ratings are always the minimum. Who is to motivate them??? This really makes me feel bad .
I feel this is not humanitarian. Who is going to bring this to light an when are these going to change??
To be contd.....

My college - Life in heaven

It gives me an immense pleasure when I even think of scribbling something about my college days. I cherish each and everyday I had spent there. I am a 2005 graduate from Government College Of Technology, Coimbatore. This college came into existence in the year 1945. This lush , green campus has trained lakhs of individuals to shine in this competitive world. I feel proud to be one among that.
Its a general conception among people that Government colleges lack good staffs and equipments. But I would say I was blessed with very knowledgable professors , who were always ready and happy to share their heaps of knowledge with students. I am a bachelors in civil basically. I was really not interested to pursue civil engineering after my higher secondary. But , I landed in it because I lost marks in my entrace exams and I had always wanted to pursue my college studies in one of the best colleges. So finally, I had to sacrifice the department. But then now, I wolud always be proud to say that I am a civil engineer. I got so much interests and a love towards each subject after I joined.
Other than these regular stuff, Life was very cool.I used to always think how the staffs could maintain such a good relation with the students . I would always appreciate the student staff relationship there. Students were let free to do anything they like. Nobody to force and it depends the way we used the liberty. Students studying there were all the best ones from several places and every individual had a fire in them.
